Dirt 3 (2011)

Description:
Dirt 3 (stylised DiRT 3) is a rallying videogame and the third in the Dirt series of the Colin McRae Rally series, developed and published by Codemasters, although the "Colin McRae" tag has been completely removed from this iteration (having been previously been removed from American versions of previous games in the series). The game was released in Europe and North America on the 24 May 2011, and two days later in Australia for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. The Japanese version of Dirt 3 is scheduled to be released on the 25 August 2011.

Gameplay:
The main mode sees players earn reputation points in various events to gain the interest of sponsors who provide them with new vehicles. Flashbacks return from Dirt 2, which can be used up to five times in any difficulty, but cost reputation points to use. A new gymkhana mode puts players in obstacle courses, challenging them to perform various tricks to earn points. Featured in the game are various party modes, involving events such as smashing wooden targets, spreading a zombie infection, and capture the flag. Other new features include a Hardcore mode which limits players to the cockpit view with no assists, the appearance of rain and snow, and the ability to upload replay clips directly to Youtube.

Just Cause 2 is a sandbox style action video game currently under development by Swedish developer Avalanche Studios and

Eidos Interactive, published by Square Enix. It is currently set for a release on March, 23 2010. It is the sequel to the

2006 video game Just Cause.

Just Cause 2 employs a new version of the Avalanche Engine, Avalanche Engine 2.0; an updated version of the engine used in

Just Cause. The game will be set on the other side of the world, compared to Just Cause, on the fictional tropical island of

Panau in Southeast Asia. Rico Rodriguez will return as the protagonist, aiming to overthrow the evil dictator Pandak “Baby”

Panay and confront his former boss, Tom Sheldon.

Features:
Notable features of Just Cause 2 include the dual-grappling hook, which gives players the ability to tether objects to each

other. There are no limitations to what can be tethered, allowing tethering of enemies to vehicles. This feature can be

utilized in gameplay situations, such as high speed vehicle chases, wherein the player can use the dual-hook to attach a

pursuing vehicle to the ground, immediately forcing it to a stop and causing immense damage to the vehicle.

In addition, the player is given a ‘reloadable’ stunt parachute which is always ready to be deployed, even if it had been

deployed and discarded only moments before. This can be combined with the grappling hook and used for a fast method of

transport in a technique known as the “slingshot maneuver” which literally slingshots the player around the map.
